My older brother is in town from Arkanasas, He brought his daughter to college, so this is one of those times that living in a college town is great! my younger sister came over and so did my Mom and Dad, and we had a great visit. I loved it.
While we were visiting Mr Roberts took Jess to the airport. he dropped her off thinking all was well, when he received a phone call from her stating that she didn't have a ticket for that flight..... he had booked the flight and therefore needed to take care fo things... they told him that he had booked the flight for tomorrow (which would not work as she has to work tomorrow). He did some magic and some how she got on the flight. what a man! I can't understand how he could have gotten wrong, as he had the flight number, time etc correct for today ( I think the airline messed up)
My heart is saddened tonight.... I heard a story of a young man that took $10.00 from another young man. They were friends, and the first young man had worked for the later at one point. Now I will be the first to say that taking something that doesn't belong to is WRONG! but it is what happened after that I feel so badly about. The person that had the money stolen took matters into his own hands. He lied to a young women telling her he needed to get some keys from the thief, so she knocked on his door and when he answered, the victim pushed past the young women and jumped the young man punching him continually in the head and acting like a crazed mad man. his buddy held the young women back and would not intervene. Finally the young women threatened to call the police and they left, but the young man was really beat up....
The part that saddens my heart the most is the fact, I believe everyone has a price where they somewhat "sell their soul" I believe the victim "sold his soul" for the $10.00. He was crazed over that small amount of money. I think the "thief" needs to pay it back. I think he needs to apologize, but! I don't think he needed to be beat to a pulp. Violence never solves problems.

Surgery
I have had bad ankles for as long as I can remember. I have tried to take care of the problem with orthotics, and ankle braces, but to no avail. SO...... on July 16th I took the plunge and had 3 surgeries at the same time. I had a big toe bunnion repaired, a taylors bunnion repair and an ankle stablization(too much). I had no idea that I would get a cast in return for giving the surgeon business, but that was my repay. I choose a blue cast because I thought it might look a little more professional than hot pink or floresent green, and learned the art of life in a cast.
I have become an expert in the care and maintance of casts. I can get in and out of the bath tub alone and with some ease, and I can hobble with the best of them. But after 4 weeks of the heavy, ugly thing, I was ready to trade it in for a surgical boot. After some pleading and grovling I succeeded in talking the surgeon into taking it off......I got to see what had taken place under the knife, and I am here to tell you...."it ain't pretty"
however, my big toe and baby toe look like a normal persons toes. the ugly bumps are gone!
I don't know that I would recommend surgery, ever. but this one I think may be for the better after I am done with the healing. Now if it would just hurry up, I have things to do. :)

New posts
I decided I am going to keep a different type of blog. I get really stressed over the stupidest things, so I going to share some of the dumb things i stress about on my blog.
I am a self proclaimed sucker. I don't like confrentation, and will go a mile out of my way to avoid it!
Anyway, because I won't stand up for myself, I always seem to be watching someones animal. I have had Michaels dog, Brandons dog, Rachels dog and Abby's bird. The bird (named Pongo) is an african grey parrot. He is very smart and funny. The kids love him and so do I. I hate to admit it though....... he came to visit for a week, and I believe he missed us. He was so nice to everyone, and even acted sad when we finally took him back home. but the funny part of this story is the ride home...... we put Pongo in a pet carrier and loaded his cage into the back of the truck. We were crusin down state street, going about 45 MPH, when suddenly there was a load CRASH. I asked "what was that?" long story short......the cage had fallen out of back of the truck. What a mess! it broke into pieces. OUCH! we proceeded to run around in state street trying to get the pieces before some car came along and ran them over, then we headed to the shop to put the cage back together. two hours later, we were finally delivering the bird. It was a nightmare. Poor Beka, she was trying to keep Pongo happy during our ordeal, and he was stressed. He would throw torn up newspaper at her through the cage.

Harlem Globe Trotters
My family is my life. Both Robin and I are so proud of each of them.
I can't believe how fast they have grown and began lives for themselves.
our family is very close, and we enjoy doing things together.
This past week we went to see the globe trotters. It was fun, but the most fun was on the way home. we laughed and laughed at the jokes and anticks of the kids. Mike and Brandon staged a fight in the parking lot which had some poor little kids worried they were going to hurt each other. But all was well, as usual they were just kidding around.
